We know it is important to know what a church believes and teaches so here is our statement of faith.
It all starts with God. He is the creator and ruler of the universe. He is described in scripture as the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, which is often referred to as the Trinity. These three together are the person of the one, true God.
Gen. 1:26; I Peter 1:2; II Corinth. 13:14
Jesus Christ: He is God the Son. He was born of a virgin and lived a perfect sinless life. He was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. After being dead for three days, He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and will come again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; Matthew 16:13-17; I Corinth. 15: 3-4; Acts 1:9-11
The Holy Spirit: He is present in the world to make humanity aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. His work also includes providing believers with guidance and power to live the Christian life, and ability to understand spiritual truth. It is the goal and desire of every believer to live daily under his direction.
John 14:16-17; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:18
The Bible: It is the Word of God written by human authors as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit. From cover to cover, it's truths are without error and are the basis for all Christian beliefs, giving clear definition as to how every Believer should live.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Ps. 119:105
People: Man was created in the image of God as His most prized part of all creation. As spiritual beings, God's expectation was for His creation to take on His character. Unfortunately, from the very beginning an attitude of disobedience called "sin" has separated people from God and brought about many of life's problems in the world.
Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2
Salvation: It is a gift from God. Sin has left man separated from God. There is no good works or self improvement initiatives which can close that gap, or even make us acceptable before God. We can only be saved from sin's penalty when we personally receive God's free gift of salvation. Jesus is that gift. We are saved at the very moment that we honestly turn away from our self-willed life and invite Jesus in, trusting Him to forgive our sins and asking Him to be Savior and Lord.
Romans 5:1; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6
Eternity: Being created in God's image, the human soul was designed to live forever. The Bible tells us that the soul was designed to live forever. The Bible tells us that the soul of every person receiving God's gift of salvation will live eternally with Him, while the soul of every one refusing that salvation will exist in a place of eternal torment, separated from God forever.
John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15
